Square  Plain Paratha in english

Ingrediants

wheat flour=2 cups 
 oil or ghee=2 tsp
salt=as required
 water =as required

Method

 Mix  all the ingredients for the 

dough. Add water, ghee and salt and 

form a smooth dough. Add more 

water or ghee if required. Cover the 

dough and keep aside. The dough 

should be pliable and soft. not hard. 

Roll the paratha into a round shape.

Apply ghee on this disc.Fold the 

paratha as shown in the pic below.

 Now sprinkle some wheat flour and 

roll the  folded dough into a square 

shaped parathas .Fry the Parathas 

on griddle or tawa with ghee or oil. 

The griddle or tawa should also be 

hot enough before you put paratha 

for frying.Don’t fry the parathas on 

low heat otherwise they will become 

hard. You have to fry both sides of 

paratha until they are completely 

cooked or you see some brown 

spots . Care must be taken that the 

edges of paratha are cooked well. 

You can press the edges with  spoon 

to do this and use enough oil or ghee 

to fry them.

Serve with tea or ommlette.
