tomato benefits in english

Tomatoes contain lycopene which is an antioxidant that can work as a sunscreen from the inside.Tomatoes are widely available, people of all ages and cultures like them, they are cost-effective, and are available in many forms.
Eating tomatoes is great because this fruit /vegetable (whatever you may call it) has plenty of health benefits. Tomatoes are non starchy, low calorie and play such an important role in American diet today, that it is impossible to believe that till the 1800’s they were considered toxic.
Vitamin A, present in tomatoes, helps to improve your eyesight as well as prevent night-blindness and macular degeneration.
A small preliminary study on healthy men and women has shown that the lycopene from orange- and tangerine-colored tomatoes may actually be better absorbed than the lycopene from red tomatoes.
Tomato nutrition is best absorbed when
consumed with good fats like olive oil
or fats from that of an avocado.
Tomatoes are one of the most popular fruits on the planet. Although found in the vegetable section of your supermarket in botanical terms tomatoes are in fact a fruit grown from a vine.
Raw tomato juice is considered a super food in itself thanks to all the vitamins and minerals present in it. It is a rich source of Vitamin A, Vitamin K, Vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5 and B6, along with minerals like magnesium, iron and phosphorous. Tomato contains amazing amounts of lycopene which is said to have anti oxidant properties. Studies have shown that tomato can reduce prostate cancer especially in synergy with broccoli.
Research suggests that a single tomato can provide about 40% of the daily vitamin C requirement and also contains vitamin A, potassium, and iron that is essential for maintaining normal blood health. Vitamin K, which is controls bleeding and blood clotting, tomatoes help in blood circulation.
Numerous studies have concluded that the more tomatoes people eat the lower their risks of certain cancers, especially lung, stomach and prostate cancers.
There are literally hundreds of different tomato varieties. We usually choose our favorite varieties by some combination of flavor, texture, and appearance.
Everybody is familiar with a tomato. But perhaps not everybody knows that tomato is a fruit. There are around 7500 different varieties of tomato, all grown for different purposes, some more resilient to pests, others more flavourful. While to the common supermarket shopper red tomatoes and the odd green unripe tomato are all that is available, there is also a rainbow of colours grown by some cultivars, ranging from yellow, orange, pink, black, ivory, white, and purple as well as different shapes and sizes; cherry, plum, pear and beefsteak.
